Pretty sweet. Do they really work?
I have no idea.. haven't seen any reviews anywhere yet. They don't ship until around the 16th according to Gizmodo.
I'm a headphone guy.. I use my headphones all the time. I have a pretty decent set with mic, but not as good as my Kenwoods (without a mic). But I'd love to have a 'surround sound' headset that actually works decently and provides a good mic.
I'm not an 'audiophile' by any means. Once the audio quality reaches a certain point, I really don't hear any difference. Maybe it's because I don't have a 'trained' ear. With video, I'm more picky... but with audio, as long as its clear and crisp with decent bass range, I'm happy. (High end audio equipment salesmen just let out a collective cry in agony. )
My gaming rig currently has a 4.1 setup, but unfortunately the rear speaker bit the dust long ago. I'd love to ditch it for a set of 5.1 'phones--at that price, I'm going to be very tempted indeed.
I see you need to have a 5.1 supported sound card. I was hoping they did all this with a simple USB connector.
You just bought a brand new Alienware PC.. If it didn't come with a 5.1 supported card you better call the NJ State Police to be on the look out for it!Quote:

The usb emulates the 5.1 into the headphones. They were demoing this product on 'The Screen Savers' over two years ago. They said back then it would take some time before they finished it. Looks like it's done!
rock on!
It were the Panasonic's they showed on TSS, and they were released in Japan well before they were released here.Quote:

Fortunately the linked after hours had setup a subsidiary specifically to sell to the US. Couldn't argue with the 2 year in country warranty, along with the power adaptor.
Review 1 and 2
With that headset you'd qualify for air traffic control too :lol2: that things a monster.
