WTH is this thing?? I just watched the most awesome sliding fumble recovery, and then they took back the resulting TD due to a "two minute fumble recovery rule". Why on earth do they have such a fine-print rule?

WTH is this thing?? I just watched the most awesome sliding fumble recovery, and then they took back the resulting TD due to a "two minute fumble recovery rule". Why on earth do they have such a fine-print rule?
It's to prevent a player on a team that's losing from deliberately fumbling the ball towards a teammate as they get tackled, thereby keeping the play alive.
