The spider made a good attempt when it was on weed. The sleeping pills web could have been better if the thing didn't drop off. :P
@*!$%^&* you Hylander!! And I thought Squidly was evil with his Spider things. Your getting mean in your old age. :)
Just for you, Stitch:

I bet they make a nice crunch when you step on them...
I've seen a bird eating spider up close, and I even took a picture of it. I should dig it up for Stitch.
Egads! I can't even take a glimpse at them for more then a few seconds without getting lightheaded. Spiders are the most frightening things ever!!!!!
ARRRGGGHHH!!!! (run away)
Many many moons ago I worked for a pet store in Yakima, Wa.
This was a weird store. They had a couple monkeys in there with cages to clean (the female, Babe, liked me but the male thought I was an excellent target). They also had a number of other exotic pets. You ever seen a mouse eating toad actualy eat a mouse? Coool.
However they did have a large collection of spiders. Well, the tarantulas were kept in mason jars with a thin wire mesh over the top for ventilation. You could watch those creatures stick their fangs up through the mesh and it would give you some respect for red legged tarantulas if you saw those long fangs poking through metal mesh.
They would get out from time to time, luckly they knew better than to ask me to go retrieve the ones that would get out. The first time the asked me to go find one that escaped I found it under a display of dog food. A bag fell on it... oops, gee, did I do that? GOOD!!!
Anyway for display they had a bird eating spider there. It came from somewhere in South America, I do not remember as I have tried to rid myself of the memory of that beast. It was HUGE! Like monster movie huge. Well, Ok maybe not THAT big but big enough. It was fed mostly large crickets, and pinky (baby) mice.
That thing was in the store for a month. I never had to clean it, like I would have, but I did have to put crickets in the cage for it. It was in an aquarium, I would lift the opening on the top to dump crickets and the thing would jump at me. Most likely it was just going for the fresh crickets but that was about the scariest thing that ever happened to me.
Anyway. That is my experience with a bird eating spider. I liked the mouse eating toad a lot better. Even the poop flinging male monkey (Charlie, I am suprised I still remember the names of those two... Babe and Charlie) was better than that spider. That is what cinched the deal for me with Arachnids. They can have their place and I'll take mine, they cross into my place and they die.
Stitch next time have your eyes open and you'll see there are no spiders in those pictures just webs.Quote:
