Build a budget power PC!

I was helping a member of AK spec out a PC today and I thought I would post it here to see what others thought. The idea is to build a 'solid' pc, one that can handle todays games at acceptable levels, without breaking the bank. I know, every review site and their brother does this, but I did it by using newegg.com exclusively (Checked azatek for monitor, but most were off lease).

Anyways, here is what I came up with.

There you have it. An XP 3000+ with 1gig of RAM, NVIDIA 6800GT, 160GB HD, CD-RW & DVD drives, and a nice 19in monitor for less than $1,500.00. Not too shabby. ;)

Wow--that's not bad at all, especially considering that I wouldn't need a new monitor, my XP license is paid for by the office, and I could move an Audigy card from one of my current systems. I'd love to have a system like that--maybe in a couple of months I'll get one together! Nice work Hy!

Not too shabby at all.. did you include fans to keep the computer cool?

Beast - Actually, the soundcard built onto the nForce chipsets are pretty darn solid.

Slaughter - No overclocking going on, but the case does have 4 fans.
