Hard Drives and RAM

Hi Guys,
Well, my hard drive in my Dell Windows ME box is going any input on where to get the best buys and brands at??

Also I can add up to 512 on my system, and I have 256, but I can only use special RAM since it's a Dell???

Best Buy and CompUsa seem to have good prices on hd, you get an 80gb for 79 or I even saw them for 59.99 a couple of weeks ago. As for the memory I believe Dell is proprietary.

Yes, I just found that out about the memory!!! :( I feel like I just got the shaft without the lubrication.....

Anyone ever try cloning stuff one hard drive to another before?

yes, using a boot floppy and using Ghost to do a disk to disk. That way data bit for bit is copied to the new drive. However whatever partition structure was on the old drive will carry over. So if you need to expand your partiation, then Partition Magic comes into play.

DD if you get a copy of ghost you can reconfigure the partition size during the process. When it pompts you for the destination drive highlight the size and change to whatever you want. I would recommend version 7 or 8 is even better, if you need it let me know. or Stitch while I am on vaca we can get it to you.
