Now that the holidays are over, are we going to resume Wednesdays?
I would assume so. Beast?
I'm planning on it. It's possible that we'll do a "pub night" for practice this week, as I'm still in cleanup-unpack-and-recovery mode from the holidays and Gunny is away, so I'm not sure if we'll be able to do a new map this week.
Since our AK server is now a DC server will we be doing DC?
That depends on what you all want to do. We're not beholden to any ladders yet, but I for one would like to see us take a step in that direction. I'm not in love with the classic BF1942 maps--we've been down that road before, and while it was fun, the classic ladders are a dead end--no one is putting any Secret Weapons on their ladder, so I don't really see them going anywhere. Desert Combat ladders require 10 players instead of 8, but with the numbers we typically get, I don't see that as a problem at all. Basically--whichever direction the team decides is fine with me as long as we're shooting one another and having fun on a regular basis. :)
What does everyone else think about going forward in the new year as a DC-oriented team?
edit
Personally, I prefer DC. That mod has come a LONG way.
I love DC. (See you on our server tonight!)
If I can't have Secret Weapons, I'll play DC. But the crashing to desktop bit is getting real old, real fast - and it's a widespread problem. The DC developers need to fix it soon, or I will stop playing.
I think both are pretty cool, but D.C. is much faster paced. Either way, I just wanna play and have a good time.
I'd prefer DC but I would play standard BF1942 if that's what the team decides to do.
If BF: Vietnam is the desired end road, then we should practice DC...what with all the choppers and such.
Faxman is right, the choppers are the key to modern warfare. We must master the choppers.
It's a good idea in theory but, from what I've read, the BF:Vietnam physics models will be completely new, particularly for the choppers.Quote:

BTW, the chopper models in DC really, really suck.
I don't think the models are that bad but the controls leave something to be desired. I hope these are drastically improved in BF:V.
