Screencasting Software

Does anyone here have any experience with any particular screencasting software? I'm looking for something that's robust enough to do tutorials of software with movie/sound editing. I know there are some free items out there like wink, camstudio, and of course theirs Adobe Captivate. But before I go to pirate ba... I mean before I purchase any particular commercial software package, I was hoping maybe someone has some personal experience with some pros and cons of screencasting packages.
