Behold the results of lackluster parenting.
Well in this case - lack of "parenting" since the grandmother had custody and obviously is afraid of disciplining the kid. All of which are symptoms of our "group huggy" and "everyone is a winner" education system and policies.Quote:

I dunno, I was raised with the belt, and I totally believe it should still be used. Undisciplined children is a huge problem here, almost makes me want to go live in England, if only I had the money!

I absolutely agree. I don't advocate "beating" kids, but I certainly advocate spanking as necessary and at the very least having consequences for actions that matter. I've seen it too often where the kids just don't listen to the parents because there are no consequences. It's basically "What are you going to do about it?" There is no fear or respect for authority because they know there is no significant consequences to their action. "Time out" in their bedroom. The kid smirks and laughs behind the parents back while they're up in their room talking on the cellphone, or text messaging, or watching TV, or playing their XBOX/Playstation.
