Obama Bolwing
If Bush had said this, there would have been special editions of newspapers printed calling for impeachment and a public stoning.

My favorite quote on this topic was .....
"Obama supports mentally retarded people...take Nancy Pelosi for example."
Not nearly as offensive as this comment.
BTW - Barrack's Teleprompter has it's own blog.
"He expressed his disappointment and he apologized, I think in a way that was very moving," Tim Shriver, the chairman of the Special Olympics board, told "Good Morning America" today.
"He expressed that he did not intend to humiliate this population, certainly didn't want to embarrass or give anybody any more reason for pain or just suffering I would say," said Shriver, who received the call from Obama as the president was flying back to Washington.
"He was very sincere, expressed an interest and an openness in being more engaged in the movement and said he was a fan of the movement and I think importantly he said he was ready to have some of our athletes over to the White House to bowl or play basketball or help him improve his score."
I wept when I read this.
Think how different this story would be if Bush made this gaffe.
If Bush had made this gaffe we would have never heard the end of it.
Not BHOs fanboy, but all this fiegned offense seems a bit silly to me. I'm seeing plenty of mainstream press coverage over it. Big fat whocares for me. Seriously, was anyone here really offended by this?
There's plenty to bash the guy on. Acting all righteous over something this trivial just costs credibility.
I'll concede that the comment by itself really isn't offensive, but an innocent gaffe instead.
However, I believe most of the anger stems from the 'Nero fiddled' perception surrounding this Presidency. When the President of the United States goes on late night tv to trade quips with a comic, it only adds fuel to that perception.
Ya... I agree. I didn't add this to my list either. Innocent word bumbles can strike anyone. But I'd also agree that if this was GWB, the liberal bloggers would have been frothing at the mouth. They would have called him insensitive, stupid, drunk, etc.. I just don't like the double standard. While I'm sure that a lot of conservative bloggers are making a big deal out of this, they don't have the same influence with the MSM. From George Soros MoveOn.org to DailyKos, liberal bloggers routinely partner with the press and are able to push their agenda more frequently.
This just in: There's a double standard.
...developing.
I agree. Although I think it's something you don't want to say to offend anyone - the problem is not that he said. The problem is it just demonstrates the absolute bias of the vast dominant leftist media that has infected our society. Between the propagation of class warfare or turning a blind eye that exposes their hypocrisy - I find it sad that "journalism" is dead and the "news" is just a giant editorial opinion piece.
