FYI: BF1942 1.3 patch
Battlefield 1942 Patch [February 03, 2003, 2:18 PM EST]
Though not yet on the game's official website, the eagerly-anticipated version 1.3 patch for Battlefield 1942 is now available for download from FileShack (registration required). The 47 MB update to the World War II shooter optimizes network performance, SB Live fixes, cheat fixes, bug fixes, and more.

As soon as it's available somewhere where I won't have to register, I'll download it and put it on the AK FTP site. I'll keep you posted when that happens.

I haven't read the readme yet but I did read on EA's boards (what a dungheap those boards are) that ground weapon effectiveness was reduced by 50%. That includes all trooper weapons AND AA guns.
I actualy like that, not like ground weapons have had a huge impact on planes getting shot down anyway but I always thought planes got chewed up by AA too fast for game play. Of course there are screams that now AA guns are nerfed into inefectiveness. We'll see how it plays out.

I downloaded and installed the patch last night. Haven't played it yet though. I also may have found the correct driver for my sound support on my motherboard. I installed the driver yesterday as well but didn't go into the game. I have noticed a significant increase in FPS in the game though, even with all graphics and sounds turned up all the way! Hopefully, that won't change in 1.3.
