So I took the plunge...
I just ordered 764K DSL from Verizon. Supposedly, my service will be ready beginning 2/24. I made an annual commitment (with a 30-day window to cancel if the quality is crap). I'd said I'd do it if the price range fell into the $30-40 monthly range, and an annual commitment gets me a $39.99 rate. I'm going to cancel my Starz package on the satellite to save me another $12, and cancelling my CallWave (internet answering machine) and the required busy call forwarding will save me another $4 a month or so. Net result: I get DSL for about a $25 monthly increase in expenses. Look for me soon on a Road to Rome server with more than five people near you!

Now cancel that nasty crack habit and you can afford a T1!!! ;) ;) ;)
-
What kind of crack are you talking about Squid? The bagged kind or the kind you find on the show OZ??
-
Maybe he's talking about the kind you can find readily available at you local strip joint. In The Albany area DiCarlo's is a nice place to go to "get up at the crack of Dawn";)

Grats Beastly, I'm sure you'll find the new bandwidth addicting, at first anyway... ;)
