Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, Anyone buying this next week?
I advoided playing the demo for quite a while. But after trying it out over the past few days, I am hooked. I will be making the purchase next week.
Can I give you a definative Maybe?
The demo blows up my system fairly regularly. I'll probably sit on the fence for a while and see if the real thing is buggy.
even though I haven;t been doing much gaming lately, I like this one, and I will most likely make the plunge.
Is this a game with lan-party potential???
:)
You can bet ill be getting it soon as it hits the shelves in good old Canada. Ive been playing this game since the demo first came out. you can bet Ill be picking this up. Cya there!
Played the multi-player demo tonight with a host of AKers. Not too bad. The default key setting are mapped horribly wrong IMO, but I can live with that. I'll be re-mapping them to be more 1942-friendly. Pretty cool.
To be honest, this looks like a bit of a CS killer. So I think it has alot of potential for that. A LAN party with this would be cool. I'm really looking forward to this hitting the shelf.Quote:

I only tried out the first Rainbow Six game, and did not like having to take control of multiple agents. It felt more like a RTS than a first-person shooter. Is the latest game the same?
Frankly I never buy anything with the Rainbow name on it simply because it reminds me of that poor excuse of a human being "the Reverend" Jessie Jackson and his Rainbow coalition..
What church was it again that he preaches at?????
Never did figure that out....
I've only played the demo, but its looks pure FPS.
No more Wizard of Oz for you DD! (Somewhere over the Rainbow...)
I'm going to give the MP demo another run this weekend. I'm going to re-map my keyboard and see if it improves my gamplay experience.
I found the gamplay a bit "clunky" last time I played - not quite as smooth as CS or BF1942. I want to give it another go-round before I decide whether I buy it or not next Wednesday.
to answer Abbadon's question. Single player yes. but the interface for the AI is much better this time around.
Its all a matter of facing a door holding the manipulate object key.
then using the mouse you select one of four options just by moving the mouse in the direction of the selection (a pie chart appears in the middle of your screen).
its a simple on the fly interface. and its quick to use. so its not nearly as clunky as the original R6.
seriousely though, you can play the missions, or just do terrorist hunts (or lone wolf if you only go it alone). and you can do it all without the AI.
All in all the multiplayer aspect is much better.
Today is the Day! Who is gonna buy it??
Me, Bribo and Rocks are going at lunch to grab it.
What about you other guys?
