R2R Inclusion in TWL ladders

A couple of TWL annoucements to watch:

1.31 will be made the official version for the Battlefield 1942 LADDERS starting Wednesday, March 12th. This is to give a couple more days to see if any nasty bugs pop up. If you have a match before then, and both teams agree, you may use 1.31, otherwise, 1.2 will have to be played until Wednesday March 12th. All matches starting Wednesday March 12th MUST be played on 1.31, subject to change.

Also,

Inquiry for TWL Admins - Do you guys have any idea what maps you're including of the expansion pack? Since you seem to be giving the green light for 1.31, do you plan on adding all of the new maps or not using some of them? Any specifics on that yet?

That "tonight" was Monday, but I didn't see any such announcement. But the R2R inclusion can't be too far behind.

I was thinking that we might want to field an 8-man or 12-man team again. Any interest?

Indeed! I'm not sure if we still need two teams with our current active players.

I hope they include all the maps. I don't see any reason to exclude any.

Heck yes, I'm interested. I'll put up my server with an R2R-only rotation tonight and through the weekend. Maybe next week we can get back into a semi-regular practice schedule.

BF1942: CTF Changes, Road to Rome, etc

Okay, first on the agenda, the team size on the Battlefield 1942 CTF ladder will now be 8 players. We have made the decision to go with 8v8 due to quite a few requests, and the fact that 12v12 just isn't cutting it. Teams may still play 12v12 (10v10, whatever..) if both teams are in agreement. This change is effective immediately. In light of this change, both the maps El Alamein and Gazala have been removed from the rotation. These maps are simply too large and spread out to play 8v8.
Secondly, the Road to Rome maps have now been added to ALL Battlefield 1942 LADDERS. The maps include:


Conquest:


Battle for Anzio
Battle for Salerno
Monte Cassino
Monte Santa Croce
Operation Baytown
Operation Husky
CTF:


Battle for Anzio
Battle for Salerno
Monte Santa Croce
Operation Baytown

And last but not least, just a friendly reminder that 1.31 is now required for all LADDER matches. The League will continue on with 1.2 throughout the finals. Comments? Hit the forum.

We still haven't resolved our server issue...remember the load testing on Beast's server that needs to be done, etc, etc.

How about we test Beast's server on Monday? I'll post a signup, assuming that the date works for Beast.

If no one minds, I'll run a team. If someone else would like a shot, I don't mind being a grunt again. :)

BTW, Beast is pretty frosty since he got broadband. No more easy kills during practice. :)
