A little more info here.

This is NOT BF1942 or an extension of the GC mod. This is a brand new game patterned of the gameplay of BF1942. I'm not sure that EA had anything at all to do with this since this is a Lucasarts production.
Hmmm...I'm glad to see they plan to make a PC version. Console-only games like True Crime and Dead to Rights make me envious of console owners, but lord knows I burn enough money on PC games without having a second monkey to feed.
I just can't get into a FPS game that's console based. I need a keyboard/mouse for FPS.
Not to mention the fact that knowing there is someone on the other end that is really pissed off right now because you just fragged them:D Granted the ability to play online for console's does exist but you don't get the same quality or number of players as you do from pc gaming.
I enjoyed Halo for the Xbox. That was about it.
HALO wasn't bad and Timesplitters 2 is fun when my son and I go split screen and head-to-head but I can't see playing an in-depth, graphically rich game like HL or Thief on an Xbox. There's just something more impersonal about the consoles.
Is it on the BF engine?
I would hope that they would make their own similar engine, or at least modify it enough to allow Imperial walkers. Playing the Hoth level of GC was torture--you could see the walker carcasses and know you'd never get to "drive" one. :) If they are basing it on a Battlefield engine, hopefully they'll base it off the Battlefield Vietnam engine instead of the BF1942 engine--I think jets would be a better basis for X-wings and TIE fighters than prop planes. ;)
you know, dead to rights is out on pc right now...
