Need Copyright Help
I've been challenged to create a legal blurb (backed with facts) that prohibits users from copying .mp3's to a shared network drive. I couldn't find anything on the RIAA website, and I'm not willingly to dig through copyright laws. Does anyone have anything that they've seen at work?
ed. I have one that discusses copyright software, but nothing that is explicit enough so that end users understand.

Whats the specifics of the shared network drive?
In house shared to the family, or dorm room shared with roommates?

5th largest company in the U.S. shared network drive.
So basically network shared in a business environment.

I suggest:
"As the 5th largest company in the US, we hold certain standards of employee behavior to be above reproach. Effective immediately, any employee placing copywritten electronic files, including copywritten music files in the MP3 format, onto a shared network drive must ensure that such files are at least 128 kbs or greater in quality. Failure to do so, or to upload Barry Manilo, will result in severe penalties."

RIAA won the battle against MP3.com, a service that allowed you to store MP3's of your cd collection online(as I'm understanding from reading the court ruling)..
Look at the Copyright Act, DMCA 512(a), and the ruling of the Napster case as well as the Mp3.com case. You should be able to come up with some sort of legal blurb to keep mp3's off the shared network drive based off precedent alone.
