Welcome to Houston. You'd be crazy not to own a gun down here.
I think it would have run if the races had been reversed. Texas hometown media is NOT that liberal most of the time.
Kudos to the homeowner. Shame he couldn't just off 'em and save me the taxes to pay for their punishment.
I have my doubts. A white homeowner proudly holding a couple of blacks at gunpoint. If it had been reported, that detail would've been omitted.
I particularly liked the wife's reaction. Someone's gettin' some lovin' tonight!
I love this guy.
In New York they would be bringing the homeowner up on all sorts of charges now as well as a civil suit by the burglars for having violated their civil rights.
I know it would have run in the paper ... maybe you are right about TV though. In the paper it would have been up to the public to figure out the races based on the names of the vic and perps -- we never reported race unless there was a description for someone the police were seeking.
This happened just yesterday in Schenectady, NY (near Albany).

Here's the money quotes:
Sayers was charged with burglary and criminal mischief. Police are trying to determine whether Khemraj will face charges.
"I'm not happy that he broke into the store, but I'm not happy he got shot either," Sayers' 56-year-old grandmother, Kathy Sayers, said.
She described her grandson as "good-hearted," but added that he has struggled with a bipolar disorder and anger over his mother's 1997 death from AIDS. Bagley has raised the boy since he was 19 months old, they said.
In New York State the burglars become the victims and the victims become the criminals.
