I'm chewing through the single-player game slowly. I set it on hard, and wow is it hard!
The multiplayer is growing on me. The grappler is the biggest innovation. Good cappers will be able to do reliable 90 degree turns right over the flag, which fundamentally changes cappling and flag D.
Is the rocker launcher useless, or am I just terrible with it? The fighters seem awfully powerful and too small to hit with that rocket spread. And the bomber's range seems just as long as the rocket launcher's. Fighters can obviously bring down the bombers, but what brings down the fighters?
The best way I have found to take down pod fighters is grapple on to them, and disc them out of the sky, only takes 2 hits with the spinfusor. The Burner also works well in that situation.
I got it yesterday for my Bday, (even though it's not officially until Tuesday).but what can I say my wife takes good care of me. I am going to stop by Best Buy Tuesday and grab the BFG 6800gt as well, then I should be good to go. I hopped onlastnight for little while but all the guys on vent were playing BFV, I hope tribes isn't fading out already, AK wise that is.
Ok, Gunny I may be making a mall run today too. I am in town for once in my life and playing this game online is on top of my list. Been slowly going thru the single player side and I think it stands on it own. Anyway I hope all the AKer's will be teaching me the finer points of tribe MP soon.
I'm up for a little T:V. Tuesday nite is probably best though.
Stop by the Team-Riven T:V server and say hi.
Eh...no thanks... :bye:
I got to play tonight since the whole DC fiasco, I hopped on a server with AB and Pix playing a custom map. Good map to learn on, it's amazing how much difference a vid card makes. That game is much better then my first impressions. Look forward to playing this a more often.
