For the XBox, you have to get HALO. Since you don't like aliens, this is just the game for you.. ;) Other good games are Amped, and Splinter-Cell among others.
Counter-Strike is a MOD for Half-Life. Half-Life is a tremendous game in it's own right, but Counter-Strike is meant to be "realistic". The weapons are based on real ones, and the damage they do to you is somewhat more realistic.
Somewhat, not totally. Anyway, it's a fun game, and you can buy a discounted version of Half-Life WITH the Counter-Strike Mod included for under $20.
Of course you'll still have to download the huge patch to bring it up to 1.0.0.5.

I hated Myst. I don't own an Eagles or a Pink Floyd album, and I never returned The Beast's Half Life CD. I am a horrible monster, and I pray for death.

<- Owns many Eagles alblums... on LP still.
<- Owns all classic Pink Floyd (this Widowmakers all time favorite band) on LP and CD but lost most of my cassettes.
<- Liked Myst for the few hours it took to complete it.
For XBOX I realy like MechAssault a lot... no simulation but a hell of a lot of fun especialy on XboxLive!
I thought Halo was pretty to look at and fun at first but got real boring real fast for me. I just hope a good online racing game comes out for the XBox or PS2 (I have both with on-line capability).

I was able to make it through the "repeat" levels that seem to kill off interest for a lot of folks. Halo is the only XBox game I've finished (I hope to add Splinter Cell to the list soon though.)

Panzer Dragoon Orta is also really cool, but you you might find it more enjoyable if you played one of the older versions of the game.
HALO hands down is pretty much the coolest game. I know it will be very cool if and when it makes it to the PC.
Splinter Cell is really good, a definite worth owning title.
Mechassault is fantastic and really is awesome for Online play.
Dead 2 Rights is a cool game but more of a renter, then owner.
Onimusha is great for any samurai/resident evil fan
Dynasty Warrior 3 is very fast paced mindless fun, very cool game.
And for the bargin shoppers, Metal Gear Solid 2:Substance is now only 24.99$ and that is a most own for any xbox owner.
That's my take on the XBOX world for now.
