It's about time I buy a new license so I can upgrade the forums to vBulletin 4. The cost is $195. If you want to donate—and I know you do—just go to augustknights.com and click on the PayPal button. Thanks!

Do we have some funds left over in the Battlefield server fund that we could use to offset this cost?
*thump thump* Is this thing on?
I still owe my FF fees but as soon as I get some green together its coming your way. I thought they said the resession was over!
I have an eBay sale terminating tonight. Soon as those funds go in - I'll toss some cash in the hat.
If we have left over funds from the battlefield server, this is a worth cause for the monies.
Sorry missed this thread. I will send some cash monday..
Palooka, how much more is needed?
Yeah, I've been fading in and out the last few months...must have missed this. To answer Swae, we have about $200 or so in the community chest, but that's also designed to pay for Vent (which runs about $100 a year.) I think we should leave that be and deal with this via personal donation. I'll kick in tonite when I get home.
$55 has been donated thus far.
Payment sent.
Better late than never... Sent
I have received $155 so far. I'll cover the rest. Thanks, everyone!
Looks great, Palooka! Thanks!
One small tip--on the two computers I normally use to read these forums, I would log in, have my correct access level, and be visible as a currently logged-in user, but the front page would be that of a non-logged in user (no notifications or private forums visible.) If that happens to you, just clear out your cookies from this site and you should be good to go.
Ya, no luck with that for me. I can only log on one time. When I come back, I have to log on again. Wiped all cookies and it's still the same. Weird.
I'm having the same issue, and as with Nuts, clearing the cache and cookies has had no effect. This is with Google Chrome. However, sometimes If I go to a different page, it will then show me logged in. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the way Chrome caches pages.
Nuts, are you using Chrome by chance?
No. Firefox. And it's definitely a caching problem. When I go to the forums it appears that I'm not logged in... however, if I go to any of the posts, then back... it's all okay. Odd.
I've noticed it, too. Strange issue . . .
I'm on another website that just started using this newest vbulletin as well about a month ago. I had the same problems at first but it seemed to eventually go away. Very weird.
I like the 'fresh' look, just the login issue is all.
I'd still love to have the RSS feed turned on though so I could just plug it into my Google Reader. :)
If you access AK via a shortcut or bookmark, delete it and recreate it. Problem solved.
Have tried all the steps listed here and still unable to see the private forums. Tried a different pc that I have never been to the AK forums on and still doesn't work for Firefox or IE :( I am able to login ok but don't see everything.
same for me, deleted shortcuts and cookie, but I need to log in each time and I dont see the private forums
Same here. I still have to login every time although on my iPad and Mac no issues. Only Firefox on my Windows laptop at work do I have continuing issues. Annoying.
Using Chrome, I'm good on my laptop and having the same issues described by others.
Beaker has been having this issue as well, Firefox. I have not, Safari.
Right,
I initially log in see posts etc.. it says I am logged in but then it doesn't act like I am logged in, still has the log in area, and no private posts no private message tab etc...
BUT if I then go to something else like the calendar and then back to the forums it recognizes me and shows me which posts I haven't read and the private stuff and I have the welcome beaker tab.
Try deleting all your cookies and bookmarks then setting a bookmark for this address:

This worked for me. Initially, I did not have the /index.php on the end and seemed to have issues with it looking like I wasn't logged in even though I was. This cleared up that issue.
This was it.. The final straw that pushed me to upgrade from good'ol XP. :lol2: A fresh install of Windows 7 did the trick for me. ;)
