Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, Anyone buying this next week?
I advoided playing the demo for quite a while. But after trying it out over the past few days, I am hooked. I will be making the purchase next week.
Can I give you a definative Maybe?
The demo blows up my system fairly regularly. I'll probably sit on the fence for a while and see if the real thing is buggy.
even though I haven;t been doing much gaming lately, I like this one, and I will most likely make the plunge.
Is this a game with lan-party potential???
:)
You can bet ill be getting it soon as it hits the shelves in good old Canada. Ive been playing this game since the demo first came out. you can bet Ill be picking this up. Cya there!
Played the multi-player demo tonight with a host of AKers. Not too bad. The default key setting are mapped horribly wrong IMO, but I can live with that. I'll be re-mapping them to be more 1942-friendly. Pretty cool.
To be honest, this looks like a bit of a CS killer. So I think it has alot of potential for that. A LAN party with this would be cool. I'm really looking forward to this hitting the shelf.Quote:

I only tried out the first Rainbow Six game, and did not like having to take control of multiple agents. It felt more like a RTS than a first-person shooter. Is the latest game the same?
Frankly I never buy anything with the Rainbow name on it simply because it reminds me of that poor excuse of a human being "the Reverend" Jessie Jackson and his Rainbow coalition..
What church was it again that he preaches at?????
Never did figure that out....
I've only played the demo, but its looks pure FPS.
No more Wizard of Oz for you DD! (Somewhere over the Rainbow...)
I'm going to give the MP demo another run this weekend. I'm going to re-map my keyboard and see if it improves my gamplay experience.
I found the gamplay a bit "clunky" last time I played - not quite as smooth as CS or BF1942. I want to give it another go-round before I decide whether I buy it or not next Wednesday.
to answer Abbadon's question. Single player yes. but the interface for the AI is much better this time around.
Its all a matter of facing a door holding the manipulate object key.
then using the mouse you select one of four options just by moving the mouse in the direction of the selection (a pie chart appears in the middle of your screen).
its a simple on the fly interface. and its quick to use. so its not nearly as clunky as the original R6.
seriousely though, you can play the missions, or just do terrorist hunts (or lone wolf if you only go it alone). and you can do it all without the AI.
All in all the multiplayer aspect is much better.
Today is the Day! Who is gonna buy it??
Me, Bribo and Rocks are going at lunch to grab it.
What about you other guys?
Eh, I'm still up in the air. I enjoyed the original Rainbow Six, but didn't like Rogue Spear much. I'll give the demo a look one of these nights when I have some free time and decide then.
Its "still not here" stupid SOB's.
But bet your ass its mine soon as it hits the shelves.
I'll sell my MOO3 to get some cash toward this one. Anyone playing tonight?
I have RavenShield in my greedy little hands right now. :)
I'll be on tonight at 9pm EST looking for a little multiplayer.
I got it too!! However I forgot to remember to bring Choozoo. Now he's not gonna buy the game becuase I forgot all about him. (wa, wa, wa)
Shuttie Stitchpants
I went through a whole box of tissues during my sadness. Today was the only chance I'd have to go out and buy it, and you couldn't even nextel me to ask if you should pick one up for me. But why would you, you forgot me in the first place.
Knight's dont whine like that. Go and buy it with your dress.:)
not trying to whine. Stitch was like, "You got to come at lunch, going to the mall to buy it." I said sure, I'll go, then I never saw him again.
I'm sure I'll be able to pick up a copy cheap very soon. Someone around here won't like it....
So Stitch is just leading you on. I would have brought you a copy but he said you hated the game.. OK oK he didn;t say that. I made it up. Anyway Stitch made me drive with a broken arm and then didn;t even cut my sandwich for me. He watched struggle eat my meal. He didn;t hold the doors for me either, so don;t feel to bad.
OMG you guys are laying it on thick. I need a chef knife to cut through it.
Rocks, I would have helped you without question, but for some reason sitting in a crowded food court feedin you a sandwich just wouldn't look right. Mind you that I could have passed as your son. That could have been dismissed. But it still would have seemed a little wrong, and don't get going on the door thing, I don't even hold the door for my wife..... (I'm bad like that)
Choozoo, I do feel bad for forgetting dude, I really do, but I know you will pick up a copy before the weekend. I'll haunt you until you do. Plus, I'll buy you coffee tomorrow you big baby. :-)
Does your wife have broken arm too? Oh ya, NO! So I don't buy the door thing... LOL
