At first glance, this seems like a good deal to get some decent surround sound speakers for gaming and music. Any comments?

It's only 280watts.. Its good, but not great.
For the money it's a really nice little setup. and think about it. How big is your gaming/computer room anyways. It will sound really nice no matter what. Go for it man!
I just don't settle for anything under 400watts I guess...
Need the volume to block out the voices in your head? :bye:Quote:

Clay,
I think that's the same setup we saw at Sam's Club for $57.
Scratch that last post. That's a Z-2300 that Sam's Club has.
Your speakers (or the next generation of them) sell for $199 at Best Buy. Looks like a good deal on Ebay, which is odd.
Yeah.. I saw them at Best Buy Friday when I took my laptop in to get fixed... poor thing.
If you read it it clearly states the guy has owned them for a few months, at least I think I remember reading that.
As for the voices in my head.. *turns on some music at about 30% volume* what voices?
Ok, now delete the post and everyone be veeerrry quite. I'm the only bidder :)
You must have voices in your head to take it to the "experts" at Best Buy for service. ;)Quote:

That damn Geek Squad ambushed me when I was buying my Klipsch Pro-Media set. They kept yammering that they could install and set it up for me. Those two bastards followed me all the way to the checkout line. Talk about dorks, err I mean geeks.
I bet they could sense you were a Yoga master, Stitch. ;)
Pfft, I should have known. I set my bid as high as I could possibly imagine paying for this used equipment, with stain, without warrentee, condition unknown and seller unknown. So of course, some clown waits until 20 seconds before the end of the auction and runs it up against some other clowns to almost $100.Quote:

I remember now why I rarely waste time on Ebay.
Holy Crap! These things are awesome!
See photo for old subwoofer next to new...
I knew the new speakers were nice when I put on "Montgomery Gentry-She Couldn't Change Me", but when I put on "Big Pig - I Can't Break Away - Bill and Ted).mp3" the whole house shook from the intro diddy. WOW! Good speakers really do make a big difference in sound quality (yea yea, "well duh").
Bought these babies for just $114

The only thing is, I think by switching my computer sound sendings to Dolby 5.1 surround, I'm now taking a performance hit. A big performance hit at that. That's annoying.
