I downloaded Sins of a solar empire http://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/ with the nex x-pak the other day. and then i found this site, http://sins.imperial.cc/
and now im hooked. If your a fan of the old game "Masters of Orion" (1+2, no one liked 3), then you should realy check this out. Brain stimulator but not too overly complex. and the StarWars mod just puts it over the top.

I bought this a while ago. Might have to give it a reinstall if you're looking for a multiplayer matchup.
I have been thinking about trying to expand my standard game list. I have stuff installed that I play occasionally, but nothing has quite hit hard enough to keep my attention for more than a week, most don't last past 48hrs. Fax, with all the games you have I know you must know what I mean.
I am really looking for an alternative to WoW that still has the extended development aspect of WoW.
I hate that i have devolved down to just WoW. Cuz it is such a source of headache.

I have this game as well. Haven't played in a long time either, which is too bad because it was a lot of fun. I'd love an excuse to reinstall it.
Recommendations on where to get it? (I.e. Steam? Retail? other?) I still feel the fool for having paid $40 for L4D while others got it for like $10.Quote:

you can download the full game and expansion for $34.95 from their main site. This is an RDM game, you will need to install the Impulse client.
bit of warning. if you plan on buying with paypal. make sure to use the same email address that you want to link the game too.
We get a few people on this and set asside a few vent channels to hop arround in (we would want more than one) and this could get realy fun!!

Let's get some Sins matches rolling! I love strategy games of all stripe, but they just never seemed to catch on with AK members for the long haul.
Also of note: All Company of Heroes titles and Dawn of War 2 are 50% off this weekend. Both are excellent titles. I've seen some epic CoH multiplayer battles.

Both. the star wars addin is a really nice mod. But it requires that you get the Entrenchment expation pack. I have seen it for sell at wallmat. but i bought the bundle pack online.Quote:

That was a lot of fun last night! Even though none of us knew what we were doing. :) The ability to save, quit, and resume is a handy feature.

Yea, sorry about not getting in on that match. Too much new stuff on patch day in WoW. One piece of advice, turn off pirates to make the game go much faster.
Heh...we were having fun with the pirates. Especially Rocks. :D

I picked it up today and am going to check it out. It didn't come with the expansion pack. Is it suggested to just start with the StarWars mod right away, or will I be missing out if I start with default mode?
My understanding is that you have to have the x-pack for the Star Wars mod. Patching Sins to the latest current version will include their Steam competitor, and the expansion is $10. Definitely get the hang of the game first, though, to see if it's something you like. It's VERY intricate and one of the best economic sims I've ever seen. The tutorials are great, and you can always hit me up for some advice or a game--I'm usually on Steam when I'm online.
We need to fire up another match of this soon.
