Played it for a day now...

I like it. It's polished. But I can't believe these guys haven't been sued by Blizzard - it's WoW. I mean.. it's WoW.

I like the fact that everything is new and different. There are a few subtle differences, and some minor aspects about the game that I like. The graphics are better. The ad-hoc group RIFT events are frequent and convenient. I'm going to keep playing it for a bit because Beaker and I are having fun leveling a couple toons together and having fun exploring an entirely new world and game.

Uhmm okay but it doesn't quack or walk like a duck. It's more like a swan that grew from the ugly duckling that is what WoW has become.

impressions so far, I like being able to change rolls so quickly. I can go from healbot to melee dps on the fly in the same battle ground.
I'd forgotten how much I loved the group battlegrounds. The warsaw gulch and arathi basin equivalents are fun again. I blame KIDD for this. (i specced healbot just so I could be on the winning side.
Rifts are fun and watching clay aggro everything in site then r run in circles trying not to die is worth the price of the game!
I haven't done an instance yet and I haven't built a tank spec for my cleric but that'll come.
Right now it's a thumbs up! It's not as rich as wow in some respects (no fishing :( ) But it's solid and has recaptured the joy I had playing wow a very long time ago.

So far i have see all the classes tank with some level of proficiency. Warrs and clerics at the front of the pack. Warrs seem to be able to pull of the non-stop chain pull and aoe pulls. Clerics seem a bit mana dependant and get over run in a crowd. Saw a mage (2 lvls lower) pet tank a elite rift boss that smashed me into the ground. That was kinna awesome. had to give it to him on that one, it was impressive. I image though he would be hard pressed to pull it off with multiple mobs.

if you want i can run yall through the first instance a few times to gear up.

I have a toon, but since I have an ATI card, I can't go past level 6. Seems like a game killer to me

What's an ATI card?

I don't have a high end graphics card and the game works fine for me. I do run low res graphics and stuff but ehhh I don't really care about that right now.

Are you sure your graphics card wouldn't handle the higher levels? I mean it's not like the main town is super crowded. I do experience lag a bit in town but it's not bad.

Rocks, gimme yer specs, b/c the game crashes after I try to get into the first rift. (specifically what driver version)

downloading older drivers that have been stated to work, trying them out

ATI 5870 with Win 7 (64 bit) AMD x4 940. Latest Driver. This game has never crashed

ATI Mobility Radeon 4670.
Went all the way back to the 8 version for drivers (11.5 is current) and no dice. Crashes at character selection screen.

I like how it tells me my video driver is out of date and to update it at nvidia

Reinstall DirectX? Trying using the recovery button on startup to ensure you have all the right files? Crashes to Desktop, bluescreeen? Did you used to have a nvidia card in it, and its not cleaned out? http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1655

The game tells me my drivers are out of date too but I just ignore that little hint.

At some point I guess I'll have my IT department (cough Clay) look at it but until then the game works fine.

The person behind the character needs to learn how to tank though she's pretty bad at tankage.

Downloaded the free trial today, level 10 no problems with my old ATI card x1950pro

I've also been kicking this game around a bit. Happily, I've been able to keep it extremely casual. I was starting to get sucked in until my account got hacked. Fortunately Trion has incredible customer service and I didn't lose a thing.
