I was checking out the Dell site and found a 22-inch widescreen that looked really nice. I've been running a 19-inch CRT for three years now, and decided that it is time to upgrade the beast.
This is the monitor that I ordered:

It only cost $329. I had no idea that the LCDs had dropped that much in cost.
That's the same one I have - though the batch they made my week at the Chinese factory they put a Samsung label on the bottom. Great monitor. If your video card can do it, I suggest keeping your old monitor and setting up your PC to be dual monitor.
I have the DELL 20in widescreen which I've had for over a year now, and I love it! 1680x1050 looks wonderful in most games.
I've been running a Sony 19" CRT for a couple of years (bought it refurb) and since getting the new HP 24" at work, I've been thinking about getting one at home.

But I agree with the dual monitor. I use 19" CRT (Primary) and 17" LCD for secondary at home. At work I have 24" pri and 19" LCD sec. It's great for work!

No problems. It required some adjustments to get the colors exactly right, but is flawless otherwise. I could not ask for a better monitor at the price.

My monitor would be more accurately described as a "video wall".
I literally cannot see anything but gameworld while playing. The rest of the room...even the bezel is outside of my peripheral vision.
It's been a long time since I've been as thoroughly geeked about a hardware purchase. (It's a 30inch Apple Cinema Display.)

Right, native/max resolution is 2560x1600. I run at 1920x1200 on my windows box because Microsoft xp does a lousy job of UI scaling and 2560x1600 makes everything a little too teenytiny. Consequently that's what WOW ran at the first time I loaded, and it worked well. I will get some framerate benchmarks for you soon, I need to get a DVI kvm switch installed first. PITA switching manually all the time between Mac and pc.
As far as jaggies... I noticed a few, opened up video options and found that I was at the lowest detail setting (I forget what WOW calls it). I maxed it out and the jaggies went away completely. I think I ended up putting it at a medium setting so I could increase my draw distance a bit.
I run a crappy comp with a decent video card and 2 gigs of ram.
When lvling Grakan I ran 2 accounts on the same system in non windows mode with 1 instance of wow installed.
I just alt tabbed between the two toons.
At the time I usually ran other lowbies through the insances as well, whos job was to not loose my alt and to let me know when he was AFK so I could alt tab and wiggle him around a bit.
none to little lag at all on the widow I had open, altho the toon who I was NOT looking at at the time would lag a bit when on /follow
Yeah the 2 session thing works remarkably well. A lot of times I'd level Squidly with McSlappy on follow. Pre-BC Solo Rogue Gankers tended to think twice about attacking a lowbie with a 60 mage following them around :)
So you don't need two separate installs? How did you get the 2nd to run without it simply popping up the instance running minimized?Quote:

I didnt do anything special, 1 install, two accounts.
I just open the application twice and log into each one via the two accounts.
EDIT: This was preBC and quite a few months ago, I do not know if they have made changes to stop such things since then. But I used my brothers warrior often to run Grakan through all the dungeons up to BRD I believe.
You can still run more than 1 account off the same install, I do it all the time.
Cool.. I just tried it and it does indeed work. I just went to windowed mode and It works fine as well.. stays right around 70 FPS. A slight hit, but not bad and this definitely makes it easier if I want to pass stuff off to Hylanders Bank. :D
That would only work if "Hylander's Bank" was on a seperate account.
As soon as you log into an alt on the same account, you'll be punted on the other.
