It has finally happened... I am now in the console kiddie camp. I purchased an XBOX 360 250GB combo today. I'll be adding a kinect as well for the wife, as she was the diving force behind buying this. (No, REALLY!)
I also have a new Vizio 47" LCD being delivered today. Nothing 'fantastic' spec wise, but its 1080p, 120hz and it was $599 on Amazon with free delivery, no taxes. It's an upgrade over our Sony HD CRT "Slimline" 34" 720 TV. Anyone want a good price on a 350lb TV? ;)

LOL - It's NOT a sim! ;) It's too bad the G25 doesn't work on the 360. But again, I doubt I'll be doing 'a ton' of hardcore gaming on the 360 because it will be downstairs in the living room where the TV is. That doesn't mean I won't pick up some multiplayer games down the line, but the PC will still be my primary platform I imagine.Quote:

I sold my sole to the Playstation gods so I'm a Gran Tursimo racer. IF I can find Forza 3 for a good price I will consider picking it up to race with you guys. I have Red Dead for the PS3, I played with Palooka once in it I think. That game is a instant classic.
Fax I just sent you a friend request, hope to play online with you soon! I think you should pick up Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2. We could get a small room going with some crazy terrorist hunt missions.

Do you use the headset that comes with the XBOX for communications?
I do use the headset for voice communications only when I am playing with friends online. otherwise I have it unplugged, you'll see that a good number of people that talk on voice com's only talk trash. I actually have my voice settings configured where I only hear people on my friends list.
I will keep and eye out for you tomorrow night.
Very cool, I'll have to find that setting for friends only and set mine up that way as well.

I picked up Bad Company 2 for the 360 over the weekend. Wanted to put a feeler out there to the 'console kiddies' group and see if there is any interest in meeting up at somepoint soon and playing.
I don't have BC2, but I'd be up for some Black Ops some night. I've only played once online and it wasn't pretty.. although I did "improve" after about an hour.

Watch out, all you console kiddies....I'm joining the XBox 360 community. Got a deal on a secondhand one courtesy of a friend of Faxman that I just can't pass up--going to pick it up next weekend. Comes with a 250GB hard drive; I'm going to buy a Kinect so I can turn it into a workout machine and justify the price tag. (I'm thinking of buying UFC Personal Trainer--anyone have any experience with that particular title?)

Beast, SO glad you joined the small percentage of us that are console kiddes. For Kinnect games the UFC trainer has HORRIBLE graphics, but the workout and routine is great and you can learn how to kick ass and stay in shape at the same time.
Gamestop has buy 2 get 1 free on pre-owned games until tomorrow night so I would recco if you had some spending money to nab a few games to check out and enjoy. My Xbox Live account name is 'Stitch Jones696'. For MP games at the moment, I'm between BF3 and COD:MW3 right now. But I have a bunch of other games, so if you get a gold account and want to hook up let me know. Party chat and game invites are super easy to manage and do.
The only thing that has more dust on it than this thread is my XBOX 360. :bye:

What's the difference between XBox Live and Live Gold? Is the "standard" Live free? If not, I probably won't be on Live for at least a week and probably more like two.
Stitch--is there another workout (or at least workout-ish) program you like better? Frankly, that's the main reason I'm getting this--I want something a little more engaging than the treadmill in the basement.
Gold is what you pay for to play games online with others mainly. You also get access to demos and free offers with Gold first. You also have the ability to join party chat sessions with Gold. It's pretty much a premium service to really do anything online for any game. It has always been worth the money to me.
Zumba fitness, Your Shape 2011 and 2012 and UFC personal trainer are all great workout style games that get you away from the master wheel style exercise routines.
