I'm sure I'll get to it eventually. I loved Morrowind and read a great preview a few months ago in CGW. But that's the kind of game that I won't be able to play it and WoW at the same time. :)
I will be getting this at lunch time today. Now I just need to stop playing Ghost Recon long enough to play it. My Xbox360 will be logging in some serious hours this coming week.
I'll buy the pc version today. Evidently they're also releasing an editing program that will allow you to make your own maps.
The game looks absolutely incredible.
Yeah, it's spectacular. It's hard to imagine it being an open ended "wandering" experience like the last one, but they supposedly did it.
My only worry is whether or not they dumbed down the pc version for console play. The past versions were also on consoles, so maybe this will be ok. I'm always frightened when I see what happened to games like the Deux Ex sequel.
You nailed it. That's the sole reason I'm going to wait a few days and read some first hand reviews before I pick it up. Be sure to post your first impressions. Hopefully it lives up to the hype, as I'm looking forward to some massively singleplayer action to tear me away from WW2 Online.Quote:

Bought it...
Flipping through the manual, it seems pretty darn complex. With MC tonite I won't be able to give it a go until Wednesday (unless we lag out again.)
sounds like a nerd fest :)
Morrowind was a serious time sink. Addicting as hell, as most good RPGs are.
I spent almost an hour making my character before I even got into the game. Now I'm lurking around the dungeon scoping out every little spot. This game is beautiful and has so much detail.
I don't know what you mean by 'dumbed' down for the console. As most of you should know by now the console market has surpassed the PC market. The way I see it, PC owners should be thankful they are getting the chance to play ESIV.
LOL, take off your zealot hat, Stitch.
Console games are limited design wise by the lack of keyboard control. Interfaces and gameplay are dumbed down. First person shooters are nerfed, and are a shadow of the PC counterpart. Yeah, some titles look glorious, but there's a reason why something like World of Warcraft would never work on the console.
And it's got nothing to do with graphics.
(Hunkers zealot hat onto head) Just so you know Squidly. The Xbox360 has support for both Mouse and Keyboard. I have used them quite a bit while playing the Final Fantasy XI beta. As well as sending messages with Xbox Live. And with most of the games that have been released for the 360 along with the great controller design. You do not miss the use of a keyboard or mouse at all. The Xbox360 has come a long way as far as consoles go. Plus having the chat feature on Xbox live has been awesome for getting groups of friends together to chat and invite to different games. With the game releases of COD2, Quake 4 and Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Comparing the PC version to the Xbox360 version. The Xbox360 version(s) all look and perfrom so much better. Your just stubborn about using a mouse and keyboard. Plus you don't have to drop $300+ dollars upgrading your PC so they perform well. BTW Blizzard is looking into releasing WoW for the Xbox360 next year sometime. And it will connect into the PC server world as well.
There I'll take my hat off now ;)
$50 for game + $850 for Xbox (with hard drive) + $600 for HDTV to take advantage of graphics = $1500 to play the game on Xbox...
... versus $50 to play it on your current PC gaming rig.
