There was a periodically down router on my ISP's provider's network that was causing all kinds of problems with my connection this evening... (Talk about your non-convergent routing tables...sheesh...) Sorry for the inconvenience, but it seems the problem has been resolved as of an hour or so ago and my connection is once again stable...
