    Who is voting for Hillary?

I'm going to try not to be offensive in this post; if I start to offend you, please understand that it is not my intent.. I'm just trying to communicate my perception, and the perception shared with me by others.

The delegate results indicate that roughly half the democratic voters are voting for Hillary, and roughly half for Obama, thus far. The pollsters report the same thing. Yet, when I ask people in my day-to-day world what they think of her, virtually everybody has responded essentially the same way:

"she's false, a pure politician, will say or do anything to get what she wants...power"

My uncle, a fervent "progressive" is less critical of her...but certainly not hot for her. A lady friend I know is also less cold on her, but much more supportive of Obama.

So I'm curious.. Is it my geographic area? Is it people voting for her but not admitting it socially? Are there people here who honestly like her and have or will vote for her? If so, I'm curious to hear your perspective on her. Not to attack it, but just to try and understand it a bit.

Neither. Will be voting for McCain.

But if I was a Democrat I'd be voting for Obama. I live in New York State. I've experienced Hillary first hand. "No thanks" is all I have to say.

TBH, I dislike all the canidates on the issues that mean most to me. Taxes, immigration, redistubtion of wealth, and social programs top my list. I will probly not vote this election and hopefully a democrate will get in, so when this country falls apart they cant blame us. Oh I forgot, ITS BUSH'S FAULT!

If I were a Democrat I would vote for McCain too... he's just as liberal as the rest of them.

Since I have a good job and want to keep my money, and have firearms and intend to keep all of them, I have no option but to vote Republican.

Too bad the Libertarians can't get out of their NORML haze long enough to field a viable candidate.

Maybe it would be better to take a step back and ask if there are any Democrats here. I know from reading many of the posts that we have enough Republicans to fill all the SUVs we could want.

I would be interested as is Jerilom to see what people have to say about why they back Hillary.

I have only heard one person say that she would back Hillary. She was someone who is a feminist and liked Hillary because she was a strong female candidate and considered Hillary a smart businesswoman.

Since I have a job in the health care field dealing with issues that involve evolution and such.... (Just to tweak Abaddon)

I do lean democratic rather than republican an yes if you are a democrat in this forum you are in the minority so have thick skin!

I am not thrilled with Hillary because I don't think she has shown the power to control Bill and I want to at least know who to blame when a decision is made that I don't like. The South Carolina primary stuff was ugly from the little I saw of it. She was never my favorite, to be honest I was leaning toward Edwards but now I suppose it will be Obama. (Still not sure)

If she does get the nomination then I will take a serious look at McCain, mostly for the reasons he makes the conservatives squeamish. However, he does have some serious downsides for me so not sure.

Now to be a bit of a devils advocate has anyone else noticed that whenever the media shows a portrait of Hillary she has her mouth open and her brow furrowed yet the pictures of Obama show him smiling and pleasant. I am going to start a survey of the two every time I see a portrait. I have found it interesting.....

As for her demographics, hispanic by a 2 to 1 margin, and white older male with less education also a fair margin I think, and females (although Obama does pretty well there too). So if you are talking to college educated youngish demographics you are speaking to the wrong demographic.

AK is traditally a pretty conservative group - though we do have a few who view life with a more leftward slant.

As to Hillary - do you really trust her? There are so many negative stories about this person, her temper, her vindictiveness, that even if half were true would you really trust her to be your President? Her political philosophies are downright scary - starting with her plan to socialize our medical care so it can be as bad as the rest of the worlds.

To be honest, I'm not impressed with our candidate list at all. Of the apparent top 3, McCain is the only one with backbone, experience, and credibility. Obama may have credibiltiy, I"m not sure, but with McCain there's no question. My problem with McCain is I'm not sure I agree with his political philosophies. He views life the same way all of them do - from the extremely wealthy and protected perspective of a beltway politician. By beltway standards maybe he's worthy of the republican name, but from my perspective - as a guy who tends to be mostly Libertarian, he's a flaming socialist.

If my choices were Hillary or Obama, I'd vote for Obama as the lesser of two weevils. I've never been convinced that Bill or Hillary stood for anything except what was good for Bill or Hillary. They both will pander to anyone for power and money. At least Obama seems to believe the stuff he's peddling, even if I don't want any of it.

I happen to think that Hillary is about as two faced as you can get. I don't believe a single word she says. I think that every single thing she says, action she does, picture she poses for is all fake with the single purpose of trying to get her elected.

I look at all the problems, trouble and issues we had with her while Bill was in office and think that we would be better without a president at all then to even let her into DC. I don't understand how she has so strong a support base because she was never that popular when Bill was in office so why do they suddenly like her now.

I am mostly interested in seeing if people support her, why they support her, and what they think about her actions in the past vs her now.

I'm not a Republican, I'm a conservative... and after Fred Thompson dropped out there was no true conservative left for me to vote for. But like others, I basically will have no choice but to vote for McCain knowing full well he has an open border activist on his staff and he voted against the tax cuts. I'll just have to learn how to say "Does anyone speak English" in Spanish.....

If I had to live with either Clinton or Obama, please let it be Hillary regardless of how horrible she actually is. Obama scares the sh@t out of me. I've been reading some of his past speeches and philosophy and the man will basically turn our national defense over to the United Abominations while he lights up a bong and sings Kumbaya and negotiates with the terrorists. He has absolutely no practical experience in anything that matters in regards to running a government. At least Hillary, with all her flaws, would surround herself with people who have been there before (which isn't necessarily a good thing, but better than the Obama alternative) and would defend our country - if not pro-actively, at the very least responsively. When you start seeing newscasts and the Islamic states wanting Obama to win... hello. It's no different than when Skerry was running. There is a reason the terrorists and islamic extremists want these people to win and it's not because they want a group huggie.

With Bush's fiscal irresponsibility on spending, it's pretty hard to imagine that Hillary or Obama could make things worse. That is, until you hear them speak and all the "Universal" this and "Universal" that and "Garnished" this and "Garnished" that all "for the greater good". Thank you Mrs. Stalin.

    So choose your poison:

Obama = Weak on national defense, high on tax increases, government subsidized health care, negotiate with terrorists, pro-choice, moderately heavy socialist tendencies, weak on immigration, will elect activist judges to Supreme Court, will adopt environmental terrorism policies, and totally inexperienced.

Clinton = Never saw a government program she didn't love and believe she could make larger and more expensive, mandated health insurance whether you like it or not, increased taxation, pro-choice, weak on immigration, will elect activist judges to Supreme Court, will adopt environmental terrorism policies, and heavy socialist tendencies.

McCain = Weak on immigration and has open border immigration policy advocates on his campaign team, weak on economic principles, anyone who co-sponsors a bill with Ted Kennedy ought to be banned from running under the Republican party name, will adopt environment terrorism policies (see .50 gas tax), tends to flip flop like Kerry when he sees the numbers support it.

    I don't sound bitter do I?

The media really loved her but she and her wranglers overly controlled access to Hillary (we don't say 'Rodham' any more) Clinton. This chapped their hides so they switched over to the charming and somewhat well-spoken Obama. The media has given both of the leading Democrats an insane amount of airtime for free when compared to the Republican candidates. Numerous on-air news personalities from the big networks have openly endorsed Hillary or Barrack and it shows in their daily coverage.

I don't know what it was like in the past but the entire election routine is making me sick. The double-talk, the money, the favoritism, the media manipulation. I wish there was a better system out there that leveled the playing field and forced candidates to present themselves on equal footing for all voters with the media asking tough questions and forcing candidates to be frank and honest.
