As to multiplayer, I guess I'm weird but I've always enjoyed the single play turn based aspect of the game.
I've owned Civ 3, all expansions and now Civ IV. I like IV alot - and even better with the first expansion so I'll probably buy the second as well. Now that I think about it, I did try multiplayer with 2 guys from my sim racing group and it was OK. You can set it for a maximum time per turn so it moves along pretty well and you can save the game, pick up later, etc. If someone is disconnected, the AI takes over that person until they reconnect or you can pause/stop the game. It worked pretty well - the hardest part getting the same people together at the same time to complete the game.

Love Civ, but I have never played a single match online, oddly enough.

Maybe one night we could throw a match together to see how it goes.

Sounds good to me. Sometime next week perhaps.
I'll be heading back to Pennsylvania this week, and it's going to be a busy one. I'm going to see The Pogues perform in Philly on Thursday, and then I've got my daughter's baptism on Saturday.

Sure thing.. let me know when you have the time. Next Thursday evening I have a meeting to attend - but I think otherwise I'm OK.

From everything I read it's better to run the Windows version under boot camp than to get the Mac version.
