Pizza Box versus Blade configurations

Yes today I met with the database guys again and again they were using foreign words. Oh and we meet every week so again I may have more questions.

I gather a pizza box means that the machine is stand alone physically like a PC? and a blade is just something in a big computer?

Are Blade's easier to add more processors and hard drive space to? Because when they talk about blades they talk about trays too.

Am I right?

If this is the wrong place to ask such questions or there is a better resource let me know.

I just hate not knowing what people are talking about and you guys can use little words for my simple mind.

A "Pizza Box" server is a machine enclosed in a box roughly the size of a pizza box. These boxes are generally mounted in a rack that looks something like a phone booth. Just stack 'em up in there. Typically horizontally stored.

A blade is a card that plugs into a special rack. Each blade can function as a server on it's own (disk being a seperate unit.) Usually snapped in vertically.

I prefer the 2U with extra cheese, but hard to eat with out silverware.

That reminds me of a guy I used to work with, who used to leave his lunch on the rackmount satellite receivers to keep his food warm, they were always hot, not uncommon for 1 or 2 a year to catch fire....ah the good old days!!!
