    Guild City Formed!

Well I have booked the plot of land in the purple lotus swamp.

Now its time to grind out a bazillion gold to learn the plans and build the structures.

I chose the architect profession and as such I will be able to construct the buildings nessicary to form our guild city. Problem right now is the plans alone for the first of many many many structures cost 1.25 gold to make. I am going to assume this is something we will be working on once we are lvl 80 or close to it.

I will also need many resources on top of these plans to construct the actual buildings so in your travels and during the use of your own profession if you have spare resources (ANY) spare resources please place them in the guild bank and leave them there for city purposes.

Also after a bit of research it would seem that in order to claim our plot of land, which is a fine plot, nestled right in the corner of the map making defense much easier than normal. We need to raise a Keep.

I have the skills to do this but not the resources. I will get an exact list of what is required to accomplish this and most it tomorrow or later this eve.

If we do nothing else with this city until we all reach lvl 80 other than raise a keep and claim the plot would be fine by me.

I have no problem grinding away for gold or other things that I'm skilled to collect. A shopping list sounds like a great idea. Also, recommendations as to skills the guild needs would be a good idea for me.

Heres a VERY in depth thread on building your Guild city.

    http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=36843

It lists all the buildings, their associated costs, and materials list.

It'd be kind of cool if they somehow merged a SimCity type component into this game - so that those more interested in that sort of gameplay could do so whilest other go forth and pillage for resources.

It's actually not that bad. The fighting isn't just point and click and wait, you have to move around and take action... it's a bit more detailed than in WoW. And c'mon... you were always a little jealous of WoW players, they seem to have a lot of fun. I can play AoC for 30 minutes, and then just walk away at anytime and the game doesn't force a bunch of team activity... you can do alot of it on your own.

Plus I was lonely playing BF2 and QuakeWars:ET all by myself.

Holy Christmas, you really do need a bajillion dollars to build a city. Guess I need to get moving on my character so I can start contributing to the effort.

Glad to see folks interested and thanks for posting the info Brorlis, started my new job yesterday and having to sit through the boredom of training is going to sap my energy and game time...this week anyway, well and getting up at 5:00AM sucks but only because I had teh last month off and day/night all rolled into one.

Anyway I should be on a bit tonight hope to see some faces, and for the love of all that is right get rid of those 6-8 dungeon quest hogging up quest slots.

We are going to need sewers. Doesn't seem like we have any yet, so make sure you brush up on your needle work!
