    Just a little reminder

    I know it's political season.

However, we just had someone in our office receive citizenship.

It makes me remember what a privelidge it is to be able to argue with you guys and be a part of the grand strange process.

There are many things that are broken and out of whack but the good ship still has life in her.

Congratulations to that individual for having the fortitude and honesty to do it the right way.

It's too bad our system makes it more difficult and time consuming than it should have to be - I think that's part of the problem.

Did you see the citizenship sample questions they had in an article on either CNN or Fox.com yesterday? I think I'd probably fail the test. LOL

So would most of us...now. But we've all been exposed to that information at one time or another in our early lives. We mostly know what America is about (except for the Libs who apparently forgot about the electoral college a few years ago.)

I think it's a good idea for any prospective citizen to be required to know that stuff. Yeah in 30 year's they'll forget the particulars like the rest of us, but the general info will stick.

As a direct product of U.S. immigration I congratulate them and wish them much success and prosperity.

I don't disagree - It's much the same thing behind the concept of that game show 'Are you smarter than a 5th grader'.
