Anyone want to play this evening starting between 5:30 and 6 PT? I will be home alone for once.
I had a blast pubbing this evening. Left 4 Dead really captures the essence of zombie films--especially recent ones like "28 Days Later" and the remake of "Dawn of the Dead."
After the wifey got home, I logged off to eat brains . . . err . . . dinner. Upon my return, I found, to my dismay, that my old 7800 GTX had given up the ghost. I've never seen a video card go from perfect working order to scrap metal whilst doing nothing before; the display was asleep while we ate. I've already ordered a replacement: an EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked Edition with a free copy of Far Cry 2 for $259.99 from Newegg--a great deal. I hope that the new video card will extend the life of my 2.5 year-old clunker for another year or so.

This is a good card for the money, I've been thinking of upgrading from my 8800 GTS. MaximumPC just did a review of it this past month in the magazine. It's comparable to the ATI 4870 but with more shaders.Originally Posted by [AK]Palooka

It should do fine once you get past the pain of running windows on it.

How about some more Zombie slaying ??? Me and Nuts have been playing the crap out of L4D almost every night. I'm really enjoying it ... So much that I've not been paying attention to WoW.

I was on last night for a little bit but didn't see any AK on playing it. I was on Friday night as well. I'll probably be on a bit tonight if I don't do any racing.
