For Coke lovers - Passover approaches.

Jews aren't allowed to eat grains during Passover - which includes high fructose corn syrup.

So this time of year, Coke makes special batchs of Coke sweetened with good old sugar. Which tastes better than the corn syrup swill.

So if you're wanting the good stuff - or just want to try it and see if you can tell the difference, check out your grocery store. Passover cokes are marked with a little Hebrew type symbol on top of the cap. Those have pure sugar in them.

In parts of Texas you can still get Dr. Pepper made with real sugar too. Better than the standard brew.

    God bless Texas.
Doctor Pepper made with Imperial Sugar is quite good, but I prefer Mexican Coca-Cola, also made with real cane sugar. The taste is much smoother.
It comes in the heavy duty painted glass returnable bottles. I can find it at Sams Club for about 18 bucks for a case of 24 individually shrink wrapped bottles. Oddly, the bottles are usually covered in a thin layer of dusty grime. On a less delicious product's packaging, this would probably prove disconcerting.

I can get those Coca-cola bottles too here in California. There is a group of people who go to mexico and buy lots of mexican food to sell to the local mexican work force. I buy those coca-cola bottles for about $0.75. It's great and I wish the US factories would just go back to the old way of making it. if you are drinking coca-cola anyways, it's not to be healthy, so why not stick with pure sugar.

As with most things it's all about the money. Corn syrup is cheaper than cane sugar since we have loads of farmers growing corn and sugar cane is largely imported.
