    Tribal Conquest

Tribal Conquest Paintball event, South Jersey, Jun 19-21 (Scroll down). I think I'm going to do this (Saturday for sure, possibly Sunday as well. It's a short 30 minute drive from my house.

Beast - you up for it? Maybe we can con Bribo and Stitch to drive down.

    Squidly,
Have you ever played the game with this type format before?

Several years ago we did one that was similar. It had some additional elements though, like officers who were worth varying amounts if you could tag them.

Do these events bring out the hardcore enthusiasts only or are there novices sprinkled in?

There are hard-core scenario players, but these events draw all types.

    Speedball is mostly hard-core.

Yeah, I'm definitely up for this. June is shaping up to be one busy month, but I've got nothing going on that particular weekend.

Now, to see if any of my 9-volt batteries still work...

Ok, put it on your calendar. Its been so long I need to get my air-tank inspected. You probably do too.

Bump. I brought my bottles in today to get hydro-inspected. We bought them so long ago that they need to be looked at or the filling stations will reject them. Better get on it, Beast.

Definitely. I just hope my local paintball store is still in business. The last time I went in there, they didn't seem to be doing that great--and that was in a non-recession state. Would definitely hate to get stuck with a rental gun.

Were you able to register from their website, Squidly? Their links are broken today (I know, I cost myself $5 because I thought the 10th was today and not yesterday...d'oh!) And did you pick a team when you registered?

Bump. The registration page is fixed and I'm now signed up. Now, to call my local paintball store to see if they're still in business and can check my tanks for me this weekend.

I'll try to register today. Did you pick a team? I wasn't aware that it asked...

It takes awhile to get your tanks inspected (mine have been gone 3 weeks.) So I just went and bought a new one from Action Village. $150ish.

I didn't pick a team. I didn't see anyplace to put it in (unless it was supposed to go under "delivery instructions".

I had no idea leak-checking was so intensive--I thought they just submerged it in water and had some fancy leak-checking equipment that measured the volume of water or something. I'll have to see what my shop says about timeline and consider replacing as necessary as well. Guess I won't wait for the weekend, either.

I'm probably just going to buy my pass at the door on gameday. Nothing to be gained at this point as I'm too late to save the 5 bucks.

The time delay involves a week to ship it out and a week to ship it back. Plus a week or two as the lazy shop owners sit on it and forget to send your tanks out.

I got a Crossfire 68cu from Action Village, but they have cheaper ones for sale there as well.

I wouldn't wait too long to order it...I highly doubt that your shop will be able to turn around your tank in 2 weeks.

If Joe's Eagle project gets done by June 14th then he and I plan on coming down for the event. If not, then we'll be spending 6/20 finishing that up. Big push in the next two weekends to get all the work accomplished.
