    Thank You!

Have you decided which series you are running in for '09 Season 3?

I'm trying to decide which I have time for. I'll definitely run SK again, but I definitely need to put some practice time in. My setups at about 50% of the tracks go to hell at around the mid point of the race and I start smoking the right rear like a chimney going into the turns. I'd also really like to get an A or B licensed oval & road series in. I ran some DP practice at Laguna last night and I just can't touch all those damn "Euro-Pee-Ons" on road courses. I was a little more competitive in the Radical than DP, but not by much. The Jetta TDI Cup will probably be fun, as will the Lotus 79.

Well, I've been thinking about it and really not sure. I'll most likely only attempt the late models again as far as competing for the championship. This past season was a throw away due to lack of seat time. Hopefully I'll be a bit less busy next season and be able to compete regularly.

I'd like to try out some of the other series as well. Moving up to run either Nationwide or Sprint Cup cars would be fun, however the idea of an hour+ long race makes me nervous as far as availability and mental focus are concerned. Also - I'd really like to keep moving on the road course side of the tracks. I've had a great time running the Spec Racer, and just picked up the Mazda Formula last week. That Mazda is a blast to drive, just need to improve my SR to move into those races.

What I'm Really looking forward to though is the new club scoring. I never raced a lot of the cars I have because I didn't want to do poorly and harm the team. Now that shouldn't matter and we can actually run what we want! Finally!!! That said, I'll probably mess around with a few different series throughout the 12 weeks.

Well they did reduce the length of the races 'a little' due to the complaints. They wonder why people weren't running more of the COT when the races last 1.5hrs? That's fine for the once a week Pro Series or whatever, but not the regular series. I was running DP and after 1.5hrs on the road courses my eyes were watering and I was mentally exhausted.

I'm also glad they "fixed" the SK schedule. Only running on Wed/Sat sucked - and would have killed it for me this season since the class I'm teaching at the college this semester is on Wednesday nights. I was hoping they'd make a SRF "D" license series because I want the SRF at Watkins.

I'm with you on the Club scoring. Now you'll be able to just jump in and run a car whenever you have a chance without hurting the club points. We can now just Cherry pick tracks and series when we feel like just casually racing instead of competing in the whole series. Although I expect the SRs to drop at Dega and Daytona in the COT/NW/Truck now due to everyone just jumping in those races because they are "easy" to drive.

Ya, I'm with you on the "D" SRF racing. I'd love to take that to Watkins and Road Atlanta Short.

You're probably right about Dega and Daytona weeks, and I'm sure all the regulars in those series will cry and call the wahaambulance. All in All though, I think it'll really help the enjoyability of the service.

You may find this funny or interesting.. This weekend I started a board at my house to keep track of all my visitors top laps. Sticking with the Rookie Legend at South Boston, SRF at Atlanta, and if their up for it - the Mazda at Atlanta. I figure I make just about anybody who stops by give it a whirl, so might as well add a little incentive.

LOL - That sounds like fun!

I have a friend, who knows NOTHING about cars, racing, etc. One night he was over and I was just showing him iRacing since he sees my posts on Facebook. He was floored with the complexity and reality of the simulation. About two weeks ago he said he wanted to come over just to watch me run a race. I'm not sure I want an audience when I'm racing!

I actually have an audience fairly often. A good friend of mine loves watching me race. At first I was a tad uncomfortable, but quickly took advantage of it. Now he does secondary spotting for me as far as lap number and distance ahead/behind.

I really wish you could have F3 up and still see how many laps are left! They should get the spotter to give you a 5 to go, 1 to go, etc with the option to turn it on or off.

Update.. Looks like I'll be focusing on the Truck Series. I missed my promotion because I only ran Late Models last season. So.. Got some tracks to buy..

But - at least I'm off to a good start.

First race at Daytona - First race in a Truck.
