I was talking about this with my boss - a die-hard, bleeding heart-liberal. We both noticed that the anti-war movement has died as well. It's not policies that matter, but personalities. It's okay to attack Bush and portray him as a baby-eating super Hitler but you better not mock Obama because that's just hateful, mean-spirited, racist, ignorant, and red-state-ish of you.

That is a keen--and telling--observation. The entire antiwar movement was obviously a frivolous farce led by deranged Bush-haters with no core beliefs--only hatred for Republicans.
