I can see the flame war battles between Star Trek Online and Star Wars Old Republic fans over which one is better....

My friend has been working on this one for almost a year so far. Development is a bit quicker as they are using the Champions Online engine. Friends & Family Beta will open soon. Should be good.

Wasnt a "big" fan of either as trecky and star war fandom goes...but the new star wars MMO looks pretty cool.

Bummer... saw some screen caps of the Champions Online game and it looks like crap in my opinion.

I've been looking forward to this for some time, I can already see the Klingons around Uranus.
A warrior is kinda like a blender. You can shatter it from a long way off with a gun, or you could even pull the plug so it can't move, but if you stick your face into it when it's moving........you're going to lose.

As great as the Star Trek universe is, it will not get that strong of a hold on the MMO market. I do hope it's a good game for those who are looking forward to playing it. I'm waiting for Final Fantasy XVI and for some major Aion improvements.

Ship to ship combat is done nicely, but I have to that the FPS part is not making the cut. Could be a beta thing, but so far the beam down to the planet and do something type quests are not cutting it. If was to make a call right now, I would say dont buy. I may be missing out of something, but this game will get boring quickly... Stay tuned, Sedi and I hope will be teaming up later tonight if I can get myself freed up..

So, Closed beta will be running today and tomorrow starting at 10am pst. The patch is big, so I would start loading now if you want to play. I am still enjoying the Ship combat, so I am still interested. Time will tell. I would like to see the PVP part too. Set your Phaser to "Fun" if you can...

The last patch helped a ton and I enjoyed playing, so i have already preorder, but I the content isnt for everyone forsure. I like the short burst of quests and ship game play. Interested to see how pvp works, but in the end I buy everything, so I deleted Aion off and STO is on. And of course I am still playing wow, borderlands, dragon ages, and soon Mass effect 2... WHere does all the time go..

You must not sleep anymore, because I'm only playing Aion, Left4Dead2 and Assassins Creed II right now and I'm barely getting any sleep at night.
