I can never win...

Get this...I finally get a cable modem, I get all hyped up because I am downloading at much faster speeds than before, but when I get ready to play a little Tribes with a ping lower than 300 for the first time, I get to the server select screen only to find that it is unable to refresh the servers. Well, shouldn't be much of a problem...with Tribes 2 about to come out, maybe they are just closing all of the servers for an upgrade or something. Then, I start up EQ...it has a problem getting past the patch check. Then I start to panic, pulling up as many games as I can, checking if any of those work. Half-Life, no...Unreal Tournament, no...Q3, no...Diablo 2, no. I call up the cable modem tech support people and they tell me that they have unplugged the cord for all of the games and programs like napster for some sort of upgrade, so they probably won't be working until the beginning of next month. Which means that I will have to play T2 with the same old 56k connection. Sent a very lengthy email griping about it to the tech support people, but doubt that it will help that much. Guess I can never win...

I don't have the expertise of Wrath when it comes to talking turkey with cable modem guys but...I have a big mark next to my name when I call up. My nick comes in handy when my service faulters...I'm relentless.
