I ran some numbers fast from http://denkirson.xanga.com/722757523/bad-company-2/ to find the "best" or most damaging gun. I figured a damage per second based on the rate of fire and delay between firing. Basicaly the last column is the damage per second for each class. This is close quarters damage (the highest value from the link above). Obviously other things to keep in mind are reload time, range, magazine size etc. I was just looking for a pure number to compare guns in the class.

Note: Recon is off because of the ridiculous time between firing. The M95 seems to be by far the best due to its range and recoil mod and it uses a different bullet (the same that heavy machine guns use), so it can take down vehicles. This seems to be the only gun that can.

"On the "physics" of Bullet Drop, there are several types of bullets:
Bullet. The standard for all weapons from pistols to the weaker Recon Rifles. They are almost not affected by gravity at all.
Sniper_Bullet. A bullet affected by fake gravity. Used by the M24, SV-98, GOL, and Slug Shotguns
HMG_bullet. Used by stationary and vehicle mounted machineguns. That AND the M95 sniper rifle. It drops as much or slightly less than Sniper_bullet.
The feature of HMG_Bullet is that it can damage lightly armored vehicles such as Jeeps and Helicopters."

Also keep in mind the standard player has 100 health, so compared with the damage column, it takes anywhere between 1 and 10 rounds to kill someone (without a head shot which has a X 2.1 multiplier). Body armor = 125 health total, magnum round = X 1.25 multiplier. So for an M16 it would take 6 rounds to kill someone normally, 8 rounds if they have armor, 5 rounds if you have magnums, and 6 rounds if you have magnums and they have armor (magnums and armor seem to negate each other). Some of this was news to me, I had feelings it was like this, but I like #s!

Sorry for the messy columns it was much cleaner in Excel.

Gun/ Rate(bullet per min.)/ Delay Damage/ Bullet per sec / Dam per sec
