A co-worker of mine has done a lot of overclocking with good results. He has, on occasion, fried his CPU by making a mistake on his calculations. There are a number of websites out there explaining the pros and cons. I'd do a bit of research before you make the jump. Usually, you can push a chip up one "level" through overclocking without having to replace your current heat sink and fan (as long as it's a good one).

I'd probably upgrade my CPU rather than try the overclocking route. What kind of motherboard do you have? And what can the motherboard handle as far as CPU? Could you buy a Pentium 3 1.13Ghz and slap it in? They only run about $150.

What's your reason for overclocking? Does T2 run slow for you? What kind of framerate are you getting?

You might want to check the T2 performance guide here http://www.3dspotlight.com/tweaks/tribes2/index.shtml for more T2 tweak info. It might just be your T2 options.

Also, how much memory do you have?
