For fun, the military practice targets for that rifle are attached. They are .pdf files reduced for 100 yards, and you can print them on your PC on regular paper.

    In regulation:
200 yd = standing and sitting
300 yd = prone rapid fire
600 yd = prone slow fire.

    alternatively

    200 yard regulation is "SR".
300 yard regulation is "SR-3C", overlaid onto "SR"

I've actually seen the photo before, and saw the original story when it it first came out. It's hair raising - and it's exactly what it looks like. According the posting (and if it's on the internet it has to be true) is some American's in China 10+ years ago, when it was just possible for gringo's to actually go there for business. They saw a sign advertising renting and shooting AK47's at a military base, as a fund raiser (who needs bake sales). We're not talking American legal semi-auto's either - these are the real deal. So they paid their money and had each round counted out round by round for them. At a cost of something absurd like 5-10 cents a shot (ridiculously cheap). Then, you got it, for fully automatic fire, this is how their targets were held. Nothing but the best for tourists. If you've ever fired fully automatic before, this has got to make you shudder. Fortunately full-auto rises, not falls, but still - after about round 3, you're not in very good control any more.

    Unbelievable.
