Steam now on MAC

Yesterday the MAC client for Steam was released. Also with it's release the game Portal is free for anyone who clicks on the icon until May 24th. This free copy is available for both PC or Mac users.
Currently I have Torchlight and Portal installed. I tried both and they work great.

Still a bit buggy but it's beta... so yeah. I downloaded Portal last night but didn't get a chance to test it yet. Will be grabbing TF2 and L4D as well. Nice to be able to run the Steam client on my Mac and use the community feature to chat with friends.

No more dual boot to crappy Windows to play games!

I'll definitely be grabbing the Valve games for my MacBook. But I'm disappointed that my newly-purchased Civ4/expansions currently say "not available for Mac" in my library. I'm not shelling out another $20 just to get out of Boot Camp. Too bad, really, because those are great to play on the couch when I'm not up for "hard-core" shooter action.

Beast - I suspect those titles will eventually be available on Mac. Just give it some time.

I'm not sure they will, because the Mac-compatible version of the core game is already for sale and available for download (and for twice the price of the game and all expansions for Windows only). I hope you're right, though.

EDIT: Looks like you are indeed correct, Bribo! Over at the Steam forums, they're saying it will be available and a bug is preventing those who newly purchased it with SteamPlay from installing it on the Mac side. Hooray!
