    2011 Season

Before I setup a season for us again, I'd like to get a census of who would like to participate with the same parameters as last season. $25, up to 12 or 14 teams. If interested, please add your name to the list.

One caveat, we had at least one team who did not manage their team throughout the season and I'm not looking to deal with that situation again. If you aren't absolutely sure you can manage your team regularly, please don't sign up! Thank You.

I'll join again if we can get enough people. If not, no worries - rather not force the issue if people don't want to have another go of it.

    Payment Sent.

We should probably get the draft day setup. Only day I can't do next week is Tuesday as I have another FF draft that night.

The draft day is setup, and once you create your team you should see that it's this coming Friday evening.

For those who haven't done so yet, please create your team ASAP and get your players ranked just in case you can't make the draft this week. We got started late due to 'slow' interest, so it didn't leave much time to get the draft in the schedule.

I sent all pertinent parties an invite email, but I will send again if you did not receive it.

    Thanks,
    Scott

Was there a posting somewhere that describes how mid-season add-drop works? I got tripped up by this last year, as it seemed like there was some kind of point system and delay.

Clay, I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to? The trade deadline is November 18, 2011.

Last year I needed to swap out some players on my team with free agents, but it ended up being more complicated than I was used to in FF leagues. Rather than simply dropping my player and then just adding a free agent to fill the slot, there was some kind of bidding process. So I picked the FA I wanted bidded something, and not sure how it works, was not successful. But there was a several day delay before I knew it wasn't successful (I guess waiting for everyone to bid on their various FA picks?). So I ended up with empty or dead slots on my team, because I wasn't sure how to properly maintain it.

Gotcha - that's just the FA process in the league.

Just an FYI: Here are the rules for waivers in general. We keep the default 2 days.

For Free Agents, the $100 budget you have for the season does not apply. You should be able to pick up a FA at any time if he is available. The FAAB (Free Agent Acquisition Budget) - which is a bad name since it's about waivers, not free agents.

In a Free Agents Acquisition Budgets (FAAB) waivers system, each manager receives a dollar amount to place blind bids on waived players. The manager with the highest bid at the end of the waiver period claims that player and that bid amount is deducted from the team's acquisition budget. If multiple managers place an equal bid on a player, the tiebreaker is the Weekly rolling list based on standings: Waiver claims are processed in reverse order of standings and each successful claim moves a manager to the end of the waiver priority list.

    Please note:
FAAB does not apply to Free Agents. All free agents are able to be acquired on a first come - first serve basis, without bids.

There is currently no option to have all players on waivers full time.

The FAAB system charges you the exact amount you bid if your bid is successful. For example, it will never adjust your bid to beat any other bids by $1.

The commissioner can manually edit FAAB budgets for teams in the league at anytime throughout the season using the commissioner's tools.

You can submit $0 bids, and if no one else bids more, you will be able to claim that player.
