Fellow console kiddies--Tiger 13 XBox, anyone?

Picked this up today (got a gift card from the FIOS Loyalty Club) and man, it is fun! I like the Wii version better, though, just because the controller gives you something to hold (don't try using a real club unless you have very high ceilings!) I'm using a cardboard gift wrap tube just to simulate my own swing a little bit better with the Kinect. Anyway, if anyone wants to play a round with me sometime or start an AK Country Club, shoot me a message on Live--I'm AKTheBeast79, if you don't have me on your list already.

You could always hold on to the Wii remote.

    I should have clarified--I played the Wii version at a friend's house; I don't have a Wii.

Is that a Kinect specific game Beast?

I was looking at picking up 'The Masters' or whatever it was called because I thought it was something the wife and I could both play together. We tried MLB, but it didn't last long before we both lost interest.

The only problem we have with our connect is our living room is about 1ft too short for consistent results unless we move our love seat out of the way. Plus, I strained something playing ping pong or volleyball one evening.

No, you can play it just fine with a controller if you'd rather. This game works with a side-to-side swing as you face the TV, so you probably won't have to clear as much room for Tiger compared to other Kinect games that make you move around the room.

(Also--there's Tiger 13, with Tiger on the cover--that one DOES include the Masters event and Augusta course. There's a Masters collector's edition for $10 more that has extra courses and "inside Augusta" content.)

Beast, I was really considering picking a Kinect and TW13, but heard a lot of BS about Kinect not working consistently and the interface becoming more of a PITA then fun. Has the swing been working pretty decent for you? And do you think it's good enough to justify picking up both the Kinect and TW?

Pretty decent is a pretty good summary. Once or twice it's taken a shot while I was still lining up, or had difficulty detecting that I was squatting to read a break, but for the most part it's been pretty good. (Limited experience, though; I've only had TW for a couple days.) The Kinect is pretty pricy, though. I wouldn't pick it up for just one game. TW is my second Kinect game that I've played with any regularity (UFC Trainer being the other one) and they both have worked pretty well in terms of detecting my movements and acting as a controller. Plus it lets me control my Netflix player with voice commands; that's a pretty cool feature.

Oh--the other thing I'll say about the swing control is that because you're swinging side-to-side as you face the sensor, it doesn't seem to detect when you heel or toe-hit the ball. Every shot is pretty straight--at least, way straighter than I hit it on the real course! IMO it makes the game a bit more fun--it would be pretty dismal if I was topping every shot like in reality. It's still a golf GAME and not a golf SIMULATOR--it probably won't help your swing very much in real life.

Thanks for the feedback, Beast. It's low on the priority list, but I'll let you know if I decide to jump into it.

Has anyone tried out any of the dancing games for Kinect? If I were getting one (Kinect), I'd need to get one of those for the wife although she may also enjoy the UFC workout one also.
