Version 8.1 of Direct X is available for download on the Microsoft site. The upgrade should improve performance in every Windows game. There are two versions one for Windows 2000 and one for Windows 98 and Windows ME. Windows XP shipped with this upgrade already so those who have made the jump to XP won’t need the download and so far there is no upgrade for those still using Windows 95.
