    Christmas

So every year my wife handles buying the Christmas presents for the kids, family, and of course for me :-) ...... I love Christmas

She likes to shop and I don't, so I figure I make out on the deal....
I only have to shop for her presents....

Yesterday I was talking to her about the different gifts for everyone and of course I ask her how much have you spent so far????

There was a long pause.... finally she says: "2".....
    I said: 2000!?!?!!?!??!!
    She said yes....
Then after another pause she says that's only for the kids.......

So after she brings me back to life with CPR.....
I said how did you spend that much on the kids!?!?!?!?!?!
She says: Oh, it wasn't hard...... looking very sheepishly.......

Does anyone ever run into this situation????
    I love my wife.....
    She is very generous.....
    She's killing me guys!!!!!! lol

Yeah, I run into "that" situation, only I'm the one spending the money, not my wife.

I live and work very close to a mall and other shopping areas. It's easy for me to zip over after work (or even during lunch).

But regardless, I'm the one who spends spends spends, and she's the "restrictor plate", so to speak.

LOL - very common problem. I did my Christmas shopping last night

Although the wife and I don't have kids, I did buy her an Apple iBook plus 'normal' items last year. So I spent over $2,000 just on her. Add in our 3 nephews and misc relatives and it adds up quickly!

This year, since we are buying a house this spring, we put a 'limit' on how much we spend, especially on one another. $300 we can spend on each other. Well, I'm already over that by about $25 and she said she was at least $15 over it too. ROFL

I "HATE" shopping. I have no patience for crowds. Kids walking 5 wide blocking isles and window shoppers doing the "Tim Conway Shuffle". My wife has to calm me down and keep me from getting in a 3-point stance and taking them all out =) Hell, I even annoyed my wife enough at the grocery store that she doesn't take me or make me go anymore! (Good tip for you youngns out there! Annoy them enough, and you can get out of things. )

I did all my wife's Christmas shopping online last night in 25 minutes.

I guess you are spoiled when you have a hard time thinking of anything you want for Christmas! Well, I could, but nothing within 'reason' I did come up with a Dremel Professional Kit (for all those cool PC case mods I've been thinking about!), and a few other things after thinking about it though.

    ROFL.....
    That's me too...
I have a hard time with the crowds, they drive me nuts.....
My wife stopped taking me shopping because I get bored after 30 minutes....

I think your doing great budget wise Hylander....
It's real easy to get carried away, epecially on line, it is for me anyway...
You would think it's harder to keep control in the Mall, but since I have fun surfing
the web, I can really start going nuts if I'm not careful......

Funny thing is we did the same thing you and your wife did the year we were saving for a house, but we blew that out of the water.... lol

Now that we have kids we try to go easy on each other present wise..... Hasn't worked yet though....

Keep spending. You're being a good American and helping the economy.
