    Windows 98 Problems

A friend of mine cannot close his programs he has running, I know it sounds weird but when he tries it tells him "Cannot close due to a restriction". He has tried reinstalling windows and ran his virus scan, but none of that helped things.

    ANY ideas?

I hate to be blatantly sarcastic (actuially i love it, but thats another story), but his problem is 98.

more helpfull items include. asking him how old his 98 installation is. is his version up to date. the usuial tech support junk.

98's unstbleness sometimes causes a mass of random errors when its about to just die on you.

this was my experience. but in cases where something goes wrong and you cant figure out what it was. the rule of thumb is to just undo the last thing you did. whatever it was.
failing that i suggest reinstalling 98, or better yet, getting 2000. (XP im not versed in all its "features" so i wont suggest it just yet)

Sorry for the delay. yes format. its the only way you can purge your system of a messsed up OS.
its not my favorite thing to do, but its the only way ive found that works.
