Will you be dressed in your full, mithril battle armor?

I unashamably admit that I have read the entire Ring trilogy at least once a year since 1967 (certifiably admitable to the nearest treatment center )

With the trailers looking the way they do, the LOP's (little old people) and childers had better duck for cover.

Although The Hobbit is an old favorite of mine, I'm ashamed to admit that I've never read the trilogy itself. I'm going to break out the books before I go to see it, most likely, though if the weather over the weekend is as cloudy and rainy as it is today, I may grab the girlfriend and go catch a matinee.

I cannot believe any AK would click on "Wait for Video/DVD". That's just not right, man.

Ok I admit I clicked on "Wait for DVD". I just can't stand going to a theater. I swear everytime I go to a theater (different ones mind you) there are a couple of asses sitting nearby that just wreck the whole thing. Always talking, horsing around, and otherwise rude behavior. Very distracting.
Plus with the soaring ticket prices I find that it's just cheaper to buy the DVD and put it in a collection than going out to the movies or even renting them. (Plus I can't return them on time)
Now perhaps I will be one of the first to rent but rest assured I won't be sitting behind you in the theater.

Oh btw the don't sell beer at the movies.....

Some movies are worth suffering through the theater experience to see.

LOTR begs to be seen on the big screen...even if you have a 1337 home theater.

I too admit I selected wait for it on DVD since my wife won't go see these types of movies with me. She is not a "sci-fi" or "fantasy" fan at all.

Go by yourself. Or do you not have enough self esteem?

I too have to admit to having read The Lord of the Rings at least once a year for the past 10 years or so. I have worn out two of those giant "all-in-one" illustrated hardcover volumes since high school. I'll be there on the first day to see the movie. I have been encouraging my coworkers that want to see it to read the Fellowship of the Ring first.
