Update Your T2 Favorites

Thanks to the slow economy that the doomspeakers and naysayers have bestowed upon us, we've been forced to downgrade our T2 server presence. Hence, all the servers have been relocated and will no longer show up as available favorites if you don't renew your list and look for the servers with the names:

August Knights CTF
August Knights Duel
August Knights Arena
August Knights Tourney

Feel free to refavorite these bad boys. I've verified that they are showing up in the Master Server Lists, so if you have any problems, let me know and I'll try to figure out what you've done wrong...

The Arena server is a new addition to the family, replacing the Siege server. I hope you guys like the new digs. Let me know if you find any heinous problems with lag or other nasty issues that I don't want to deal with. Tally-ho!

What are the specs on the new servers? What kind of connection do they have? Will we notice any performance hit?

You'll have to tell me... I personally haven't the faintest idea... Since I'm still in the land of cable, my pings are less than great anywhere I play, though I can get 80ms or so on Geezer's Arena, so that's kind of nice...

Whoawhoawhoa...you're telling me that after I go through nicotine withdrawal, save up my pennies, and spring for a cable connection that it's NOT going to make me a T2 god?

Seriously, though, is cable that bad for gaming? That's my main purpose in getting it--I don't surf the web enough to make it worthwhile for fast download speeds alone. Should I just stick with the dialup and upgrade my beer stash instead?

Cable is great for gaming. On a good server I get anywhere from 50-80 ms ping rate. The notion that cable sux is just a myth.

BTW, Z, I ping about 200 or so on our new AK servers. I used to ping about 120-130.

According to the T2 server list, the server is now on a 550 mhz box. FYI
